I am so excited to be with you all on this abiding journey to meditate on 2 Corinthians 4:6-10!
This Week's Verse
“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6 ESV
Song
Commentary
John MacArthur explains the point Paul is "making is creation and redemption are each works of God. God commanded the light to shine out of darkness at the creation. And the light which shined in a creative way has now begun to shine in a redemptive way. The light of creation has become the light of salvation. The light placed in the heavens has now become a light placed in the heart. The light which was material has become moral. The physical light of the sun, s-u-n, has become the spiritual light of the Son, s-o-n. The universal light has become the personal light. A sovereign God shines the gospel light into the human heart when the truth is preached and God designs to save....What is the light? It is to know who Christ is, that He is God incarnate, that He is the clearest revelation of God. He is the illumination of the truth about God revealed in Christ.

Let's Pray!
Abba, thank you that unlike Israel when Moses, put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, we have removed the veil by believing in Jesus (2 Cor. 3:13-14 NLT). Thank you, that we are no longer blinded like the minds of those who don’t believe. We pray for them, that they too will see the glorious light of the Good News. May they understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of you, God (2 Cor. 4:4). You are our Creator who spoke light into existence in Genesis 1. We praise you! You have brought to us, in Jesus, the light of our salvation. We rejoice in you! Enable us to live and shine out this light, we ask. We hold onto the light of the knowledge of your glory- your character, the fruit of your Spirit, your purity, your awesome power, your purpose in Christ- that shines from and is radiant in the face of Jesus! We fix our eyes on Jesus so that we can reflect his radiance in you. Yes! May it be so! We humble ourselves before you and recognize that at one time we were darkness, but now we are light in the Lord. We praise you for this! Forgive me please for any darkness I have let come in from my sin. Enable us to walk as children of light, bearing fruit of the light that is good, and right, and true. Enable us to discern what is pleasing to you (Eph 5:8-10). We trust in you. You are the Potter. We are the clay. We are the work of your hand (Is 64:8). We trust in you. In the name of Jesus, the light of the world, and in your Spirit we pray and praise you. Amen.
